At Hobson Audiology, our team of skilled audiologists support clinics with trusted locum services and delivers specialist care to clients. Led by Founder and Principal Consultant, Katrin Hobson MNZAS-CCC, we combine extensive experience, diagnostic expertise, and a patient-first philosophy to ensure continuity of care and confidence for patients.

FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT

Katrin Hobson, MNZAS-CCC

Katrin is a highly experienced audiologist with more than two decades in the profession and a deep commitment to the hearing community. A full member of the New Zealand Audiology Society (NZAS) and current Vice President, she also serves as a board intern for the National Foundation of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, advocating strongly for the Deaf and hard of hearing community.

Specialist Focus Areas:

  • Ear health (ear wax removal)

  • Tinnitus rehabilitation

  • Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) diagnosis & therapy

  • Supervision of provisional audiologists

Professional Experience:
Katrin began her career in Germany in 1999, spending five years in a specialised Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) clinic before moving to New Zealand. Her career has since spanned private practice, international consultancy, and academia, including lecturing in the University of Canterbury’s Master of Audiology program (2020–2021). Today, she provides locum audiology services across New Zealand, Australia, and Germany.

With nearly two decades in the hearing industry, Bernadett is a New Zealand Certified Clinical Audiologist recognised for her holistic and empowering approach to client care. Since 2024, she has worked in locum roles, bringing a steadfast commitment to comprehensive hearing wellness to every clinic she supports.

Professional Experience:
Bernadett’s career has spanned New Zealand, Germany, Hungary, and the Cayman Islands, where she has delivered exceptional care across both private and public healthcare systems. Fluent in multiple languages and culturally sensitive, she connects easily with clients from diverse backgrounds. Her training in positive psychology and coaching informs her practice, helping individuals improve their hearing while also building resilience, self-advocacy, and a positive outlook.

SENIOR AUDIOLOGIST

Jess Ehrlich MNZAS-CCC

Jess is a dedicated audiologist with over three years’ experience supporting adults with hearing loss. Her background as a Registered Nurse gives her a strong foundation in healthcare, having worked with patients recovering from spinal cord and brain injuries, stroke, and in older persons’ rehabilitation. She also has specialist expertise in ear wax removal.

Professional Experience:
Jess combines her nursing and audiology background to deliver whole-person care that empowers clients to make informed decisions about their hearing health.
